Around the end of September beginning of October, we were working on grants in our senior seminar class. We had a speaker from The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes, her name was Ginnie Lupi. She went over how easy it could be to get grants pretty local. I knew that people were able to get grants but I thought you had to be a small business or want to do something to change your community. I didn’t know that artists could get grants, she explained to us their website, and all the grants that they provide. Also she showed us a couple of websites that had grants on them but also jobs. I thought if you wanted a job you would look online through indeed or monster. What really got me thinking was not only if I could find a job through one of these websites but what about if I decide I don’t want to do this and can be a fine artist. Really opened my eyes to everything that could be a possible experience for me instead of just money.
